The year that just bid adieus, has given me plenty to be thankful for. I am indebted. Of other things, this year gave birth to me and matured me through ups and downs and brought me into your world. And even on this last day, it did keep me to myself, made me to stay back, think, feel and to express. Well a hardwork-demanding and a lot-pain-giving year this was. But in the end, it did push me into maturity- alt east to what i was in the past year this time around. But as T. S Eliot said, “For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice,” we are here to talk about the future more.

I don’t have plans. Thats still the same case. As always, this time around also I’m a man without any plans and resolutions. They are for planners and visionaries- I am neither of them. I live for the now. And the now needs desire and daring to move on, not plans. To put it in Alfred Tennyson‘s words “Hope Smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier’…” So you see I hope it will be a good one.

Events will happen, even if I wish otherwise. So, the best we can do is hope for the best and look forward to assimilate whatever comes our way. Whats there in grumbling and grudging. Good comes, even though after we are through troubles. Pablo Neruda said, “You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming,” and by extension, your circumstances keep the good things and good vibes coming to you for a certain time, but not for eternity. One day, whatever good is stored, is delivered for you to cherish. Lets hope this is the year, that will bring the best for us to cherish.

Long you live and high you’ll fly and smiles you’ll give and tears you’ll cry and all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.

Winfrey has some words for the new year,  “Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” Wisdom comes through experience and experience comes through age. One of my dear friend once said, that mature man are confident in their ideals and plans. So, you see with this year, I become more mature and by extension more confident.

For those who are celebrating or celebrated this eve on their own, please make it sure that you make the best of it. Hope is the best fuel that keeps our wheels rolling. Leo Tolstoy said that the “Spring is the time of plans and projects,” and Brad Paisley advised to write a good page on the first day of the new year, so as to make the 365 page book, a memorable one.

Don’t forget to hope, don’t forget to live the moment and yes don’t forget to make the first day of 2071 a memorable one. Keep Walking!
